My seaside home is on Mount Desert Island, better known as the place of Acadia, the second most visited Nat'l Park in the country. I am five houses up from Somes Sound, the body of water that almost splits this Island in half, and is the only natural fjord on the N. American continent. The village is small and charming with large harbor, and situated on it's own peninsula; loads of boat activity, a nice place to launch a kayak, or take a mailboat ferry service out to a nearby outer island. This is a phenonmenal mountainous Island with many fresh water ponds and lakes and ocean all around. A house with charm and privacy, sidewalks and off street parking, plenty of yard furniture and a 50' veggie garden. House has antiques and all other conveniences, but not spoiled by built-ins and formica! Bar Harbor is 12 mi. away on the same Island and the airport is in Bangor, 50 mi. Smaller airport just off Island in Trenton can accomadate the jets. Rental cars avail. there also, such as Enterprise,etc. Great shopping, and so much else to do. Can send more pictures out to interested parties. I do allow pets on approval and have hookups for them and cages, beds, if needed. Cable TV, DVD, Stereo and CD, etc., VCR/DVD rentals in the village, about 4 minutes from the house. Hiking either well marked trails or carriage roads for walkers, bikers, or horses, or drive up the famous Cadillac mountain for spectacular views. Many wonderful restaurants or cook or grill at home; some condiments and essentials included. Heat available if needed. SEEING IS BELIEVING! Free tour buses to many area sites on the Island Explorer, this is the newest, greatest free public transportation, sponsored by L.L. Bean, and goes to all major villages and places of interest. You will love this very relaxed place.

Bangor International Airpor is 50 mi. away, but Trenton, known as Bar Harbor-Trenton Airport is only over the Island's bridge, approx. 12 mi from NE.Harbor. I also have a gardener who maintains the outside property and a cleaning lady. before and at the end of your stay, NO additional chge. There are two tennis courts in the Harbor and you may launch your own boat there, even kayaks. The mailboat ferry service to 3 Islands has full summer schedule and is inexpensive. Two of the five Cranberry Islands are quaint and fun to visit. Whale watching boats available in Bar Harbor. I leave alot of literature on events and places to go in the upstairs bedroom.
Additional Information
Mimimum stay, one week, deposit of $250.00, lease agreement send to client to be signed by both parties, and offering protection to both. Rent should be paid by month in advance.
