The Shack on the Sand is not just a place, It's an attitude.

My one bedroom, ground level condo on the beach is available for weekly rentals. This privately owned lodging is located in a family area of the Florida Gulf, in Indian Rocks Beach. Indian Rocks Beach is about 7 miles south of Clearwater Beach and 12 miles north of St. Pete's Beach.

All the comforts of home are supplied, including cookbooks, classics and paperbacks. There is a file of maps and places to go in the area, plus other guests leave notes and recommendations. You will be asked to sign the guest book, send a picture of your group and eat grouper.

Grouper is a delicious local fish that is served broiled, baked, battered and fried, or Cajun style. You may just wrap it in tin foil, season and put it on the grill. Pop a potato in the microwave; rip open a bag of salad and you will have a meal fit for a King.

Your best bet for fresh seafood to cook will be Crabby Bill's fish shop across the street. If you don't even want to think about cooking there are at least 7 restaurants of all types within walking distance and hundreds more a short drive away.

An answering machine will pick up your calls, while you are out exploring and you may use the computer to go online anytime. Some guests never leave the beach and some try to see everything in the area, either way the Shack on the Sand is a place to which you will want to return. We are an 8 unit building. There are 6 units across the front and 2 units on the back of the building. Our building was erected in the 50's as a beach front motel. It was reconfigured and made condos in the 80's. Little buildings like ours are becoming a rarity and ground level accommodations are even more rare. My place is clean, cute and cozy as well as very handy to everything that the area has to offer. There are trolley and bus stops as well as 7 restaurants within 2 blocks. My Guests joke that if it isn't in my place, you don't need it.

Remember: small building, no elevators, new friends, all the comforts and directly on the beach.
